Your own diet |
|||
|
In this practical you are to evaluate your own diet during one day. A day during a holiday/weekend might be better than a school day. You will then have more time to take notes. It gives you a good start to read what is written on packages of common packaged foods. You can either compose and cook your meals from fresh raw materials or a combination of this and packaged foods. Anyway you will need to measure and weigh what you eat and drink. On the Fineli pages you can find the composition of most raw materials in a diet.The Elintarvikevirasto link gives you the E-code key. You should reflect over food additives in the food. Why is it there, does it make your food healthier? It is not necessary to look at all nutrients. Choose a few nutrients and try to evaluate the quality of what you eat regarding these. The
report will be graded for most criteria. This means that you
should explain the function of the nutrients you study (Pla), present
tables (DC) and graphs (DPP). The graphs will very likely be pie charts
and histograms. They are quite easy to draw by hand or on the computer.
The evaluation (CE) will contain comments on how your diet fulfil recommended
daily intake of nutrients, sources of errors and improvements. |
